KUALA #LUMPUR, -- A Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) CN-235 transport aircraft crash landed near the coast of Kuala Selangor on 26 February.

"An RMAF CN235 transporter aircraft from the Subang airbase made an emergency landing near the coast of Kuala Selangor at around 8.50 a. m. today," said the Malaysian Ministry of Defence in a media statement issued about an hour after the crash landing.

Although the incident was referred to officially as an "emergency landing", images of the aircraft carried on websites of various Malaysian media on the same day show a partially submerged fuselage billowing smoke and fire in what appears to be a mangrove swamp.
