Russia’s Special Forces University (SFU), which is based in Gudermes, Chechnya, has unveiled its latest Chaborz M-6 multipurpose buggy at the Army-2017 international military-technical exhibition.

The four-wheel drive M-6 buggy has a laden weight of 2,700 kg and is operated by a driver with capacity for up to six dismounts in its modular cabin, which can be configured to suit mission requirements. Its compact size and weight enables it to be carried underslung by Mi-8, Mi-17, and Mi-26 helicopters.

A hybrid diesel-electric drive system coupled to an automatic transmission enables the M-6 buggy to achieve a maximum speed of more than 130 km/h and a cruising range of up to 500 km when powered by the 170 hp diesel combustion engine, or up to 82 km when the electric motor is applied.
